My Faith
In my life, I have seen faith come through enough times in ways that cannot be described as anything but.
As I am sure you will see in many of my writings, I am a Christian. You can call me “Christian,” “Christ-follower,” “Jesus person,” etc. Just know that my Heavenly Father refers to me as His child, and that is the one that counts.
Growing up in the South, had I never been to church, been given an invitation to make Jesus Christ my Lord or never seen nor heard of Him, it would be a wise assumption that I never left the house nor owned a TV or radio. There is a lot of theology here, but none of it gets you very far if you do not know the “the” it is about.
My relationship with God is personal and passionate. I talk to Him, and He shows me the way. Our compatibility? Well, He is perfect and I am the opposite. However, His son, Jesus, took on my sin when He died on the cross. He then provided a way for me to be with God upon His resurrection. The Holy Spirit lives inside of me because Jesus is the Lord of my life, thus giving me a way to a perfect God.
It is because God has a will and purpose for my life that I am here today. That is also why you are. As for me, remember that whole being imperfect thing? Yeah, it is there. I mess up. I do not have it all together. I have times of weakness. The difference in my life? I am forgiven. Christ took all of this on, and I accepted that and made Him Lord. Every weakness I have is an opprtunity for Him to show His strength.
The Bible is a true book, and is Scripture breathed by God. Heaven and Hell are real. It is only with Jesus Christ as Lord that we go to Heaven. When we make Him the Lord of our lives, He saves us. Without Him, we will never live our lives to their full purpose and potential.
Where does my faith come from? The One who gives me reason to believe every day, even though I do not deserve to be reminded so much. The One who loves me and guides me by His Spirit. My God, my Savior, Jesus Christ.
