Link Love: Quest for a New Perspective

Link: http://www.questforanewperspective.com

Why I Love It: Author, pastor, and yes, my small group Bible study leader (slight bias admitted) Gene Jennings has spent the past few months creating a to-the-point blog/website about faith, simple living and global needs. Quest for a New Perspective” (Q4NP) is a straightforward look at these topics.  In addition to periodic posts from Jennings, you will be greeted with the opportunity to download a free eBook.

Take a look today!

Link Love: People with More to Say than Me

There’s no doubt about it: I’ve been quiet on here lately.  Maybe I’ll have more to say about that later.  The beautiful thing about the Internet is there is so much great content out there to keep your eyes busy.  I haven’t highlighted blogs I like in awhile, but I’m back with some good ones for you.

First up: He said, She said. The “O” factor

Link: http://hesaidshesaidtheofactor.blogspot.com

Why I Love It: I love movies.  That has been confirmed more and more upon subscribing to first Blockbuster and then Netflix.  I’ll watch almost anything that doesn’t look like a huge waste of time (and the occasional couple that do).  The “O”s spoken of in “The ‘O’ factor” love movies, too.

I also like a little feedback on movies I’m not sold on, but don’t really like reading exhaustive reviews.  Well, “he” and “she” solve that problem as well!  Check out their blog for a paragraph from each on movies they’ve recently watched.  Two takes.  Two paragraphs.  A simple, fun and informative way to make your next box office or rental decision.  Check it out!

Second up: DO.LOVE.WALK

Link: http://haleyblamb.wordpress.com

Why I Love It: I’ve been a fan of Haley Lamb’s photography and blogging skills for some time now.  In addition to her photo blog, I was excited when I saw she had started a personal one as well.  Haley has a heart for God, worship and justice.  It’s so great to be able to read reflections of that on a regular basis.  Take a look at the awesomeness spewing onto the Web now!

One More: Culinary Creations by Michelle

Link: http://ccbymichelle.wordpress.com

Why I Love It: While I like what Michelle has to say, I’ve also gotten to experience the product of what she has themed her blog around… he culinary creations!  She has delighted me and the other people in our small group with her masterpieces on several occasions, and it’s been great!  I recommend checking out this blog for her thoughts, as well as contacting her the next time you need a professional touch for your yum yums!

Link Love: The Baggage Claim

Link: http://godslilworkinprogress.blogspot.com

Why I Love It:

If you’ve been around the church or “church folk” at all in your life, you’ve probably heard that God places everyone in your life for a reason.  On MySpace, where friend requests from artists get sent to you on a fairly consistent basis, one that stood out to me four years ago was from a talented singer/songwriter/musician, Trisha O’Keefe.  It has always been great commenting back and forth with Trisha, who now resides in Nashville, TN.

Trisha and I have since become friends on Facebook, where I saw a note she wrote about starting a blog where she will put her “heart for counsel to practical use.”  The blog is called The Baggage Claim, and the first post as well as the “About Me” section really delves into a beautiful transformation that has taken place in her life.  I recommend checking it out and adding this one to your favorites.

Trisha, I’m glad that God has placed you in my life, and I can’t wait to see what’s next!

Link Love: Joseph Christie Band

Link: http://www.josephchristieband.com

Joseph Christie has been a part of the music scene in the Augusta, GA area for many years.  He’s led bands such as Fallacy and Redefined, and decided after awhile to use his own name for his group, Joseph Christie Band.

Last May, Joseph Christie Band released their first CD at a concert headlined by Fee.  The band tours churches, conferences, retreats, festivals and plays in other venues to lead people in worshiping God.  They also attend and lead services regularly for TrueNorth Church.

I recommend stopping by Joseph Christie Band’s website and taking a listen to their music.  You can also contact them with booking inquiries… or to ask them what they like on their sandwiches.

Link Love: Meet Brent Douglas

Link: http://www.meetbrentdouglas.com

Meet Brent Douglas.  No, seriously.  I want you to.   Brent is a graphic designer who has done a lot of excellent work for TrueNorth Church and their college ministry, Merge, the National Wild Turkey Federation, Husqvarna and several projects for bands, ministries and miscellaneous projects.  He packs an impressive portfolio which you can see on his website.

I’ve known Brent for several years, and can vouch for his reliability and quality work.  Be sure to email him or give him a call the next time you need something done.

Link Love: Less Clutter. Less Noise.

I discovered Kem Meyer’s blog a few months ago and have enjoyed reading her posts ever since.  Meyer is the Communications Director at Granger Community Church.  Being in the field myself, it’s been great reading thoughts and tips from someone else in ministerial communication.

Kem Meyer’s website just launched with information about her and her upcoming book, Less Clutter. Less Noise.  The book is available for pre-order now with a March release date.  It offers communication strategies and stories concentrated on engaging people in today’s culture.

To find out more about Meyer and her book, check out the new website.
