Sold

truckIt was on the market for five months, and last Friday, it finally found a new home.  It was my first vehicle; the only wheels I owned for six years.  Now, it’s no longer mine.  Shortly after taking it for one more wash, someone came to the house and took it off my hands…

The 1987 Dodge Ram has been sold.

Yesterday, I made it official by turning in the tag and notice.  Like I said in my last post, I’ve gotten a lot of calls for it since then.  This is due to the listing not expring until this week.  It’s still hard to believe it’s not sitting out front being kept cool (not by the AC, but by the crape myrtle pictured above).  Every time I tell an inquirer I sold it, it’s like I’m reminding myself of that.  Poetic, I know.

From what I understand, it’s going to be a lawn care truck.  Good for it.  You know, we’ve had some good times and bad times together, but they’re all memories.  This one instance of a door not unlocking comes to mind, but the CD player was always a champ.

Now I can drive away in my car and not feel like the truck is asking, What about me?  Okay.  That never happened, but I can drive away in my car and not worry about getting hit by an oncoming vehicle I can’t see over the truck.  Gotta love that.

In all seriousness, this truck accomplished what it was meant to.  It got me through school with a vehicle.  It also came in handy in helping out friends and family.  I’m thankful it was provided for me, and appreciate my father’s assistance over the years, as well as my mother’s help with taxes and insurance.

Best wishes, my first truck.  Just like Lil’ Brudder, I know you can make it on your own.
